Trek to Thadiyandamol
Thadiyandamol is the tallest peak in Coorg lying in the heart of Brahmagiri Ranges. The trek takes you through a road that initially alternates between coffee estates and thick forest. As you climb higher, you go above treeline and walk along wide open grasslands in the higher slopes. On a clear day, you can see Arabian Sea to your west once you are on the peak.
The moderate trek takes about four hours to go up and three hours to return.
Trek to Brahmagiri Peak
The Brahmagiri Peak offers a very different way to see wildlife – on foot! Unlike the jeep safaris we are so used to in our national parks, you can wander here in the wilderness and see the animals grazing on the slopes. The trek takes you inside Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary, rich with elephants, chitals, lion tailed macaques, nilgiri langurs and sambars. The trek begins from Irpu Waterfall, takes you through thick forests and later through wide open grasslands.
The trek to the peak and back takes the entire day. You can also opt to camp in a log hut in the forest and split the trek into two days.
